Online learning tools are efficient, effective and can easily be adapted. Unfortunately they can also be repetitive, boring and perceived as irrelevant for the job at hand. Persona was created to increase the perceived relevance, enjoyment and interest in a given topic. It will help you engage your intended audience and increase their motivation to engage in your (other) learning formats.

Persona makes use of gamification methodology to create an explorable world around your theme or topic. We visualize this world in a digital or real world poster that captures the interest of the audience and fosters their curiosity to explore further into the created world.

By partaking in narrated quests, the audience engages with simulation of real world processes and learns about the relevance of the topic in relation to their own (work) life. Each Persona is made in co-creation with a skilled gamification designer. In a sequence of three workshop sessions a world is created with custom art, narration and learning/ awareness goals. Persona has been successfully deployed for internal and external awareness campaigns. The posters of Persona have great stopping power and the decision-based storytelling with variable endings invite social sharing and virality. Examples of topics for which we created Persona were “The Future of Work” (Government client), “Income Inequality” in the community (Kredietbank) and “Cybersecurity” (Madlogic).

Persona can be used as an onboarding tool to familiarize new employees with the different departments, values and systems of your company. For a large healthcare group we mimicked a first day of Wouter, a new nurse, that explores the company and meets future colleagues while solving a mystery. The onboarding included a postcard welcome package and invite to the game via QR code sent to the home address in a envelope with custom art. The sessions in Persona were combined with short E-Learnings and online mentor sessions and managed to greatly reduce the need for other nurses or staff to help guide the new employees. An important goal during times of staff shortage!

E-LEARNING

We found that rather than creating a new version of your E-Learning to try to make it more engaging, it works just as well to introduce it using a immersive and fun experience. Using our gamified approach we are able to foster interest, relevance and motivation to learn more about the topic, in this way your audience will start and carry through with the E-Learning based on their increase in intrinsic motivation.
